11 Division 2 2017
A Brace of Deflections
11 Div 2 v North Rocks Draw 3-3
Well what a great game of soccer from both teams in which Baulko put on a show and were unlucky not to get away with a win. Oscar A kicked us off with the scoring this week with a cracking goal and then later scoring another after a deflection off the other team’s player. Josh also was lucky after taking a shot and again taking a deflection which led to a goal. This game was a test of the boys physical side for the first time this season in which they exceeded both myself and the managers expectation. Great game by the boys.
Cracker of a Game
Baulko 11/2 v Kellyville United, Win 2-1
What a cracker of a game the boys displayed on the weekend with a hard fought 2-1 win. With people moving around in positions myself and the manager Luke were both impressed. Adam put a perfect ball through to Oscar who placed it well and then later Adam again delivered the dream ball to Josh who slotted it home. With Callum controlling the backs and not making one wrong move the backs were invincible. Lewis made a great save to keep us ahead in the game. Great ball movement and listening by the boys well deserved win.
Hard Fought Win
Baulko 11/2 v Castle Hill Blue Round 12 Win 3-1
A nice start for the weekend with the boys securing a hard fought 3-1 win against a strong Castle Hill team. Adam kicked us off with the goal scoring with a nicely placed shot after a beautiful through ball from Oscar A. After a number of consecutive corners Josh manager to put another one in the back of the net in all the confusion. With the boys all focused on attack we started to lose shape which resulted in the team conceding a goal. But after reshaping and moving the ball around Maxx was able to smash a goal from far out somehow into the top corner. Overall great game boys with moving the ball around and playing from the back.
Goal Off the Crossbar!
Baulko 11/2 v Rockets
We started the game a little slow and took a while to get rolling. Although the boys lost there were many positive aspects to take out of the game. All the boys kept to the game plan we have worked on this year of playing the ball along the ground, and starting play from the back out wide. We lost the ball playing back a few times but that is expected when the boys play a way they haven’t before. When they moved the ball around they created a number of good chances on goal but just couldn’t finish. Another positive being Lewis’s goal from far out that hit the crossbar on the way down. Also very good was to see that most didn’t give up until the end. You know who you are; good work.
We Didn't Give Up
Baulko 11/2s v CHU 13/05/17
Today the boys learnt a valuable lesson in that division 2 is not as easy as expected. The boys had a great start to the game keeping the score tight to 2-1. The boys kept their heads high through the tough times and did at times play very well in moving the ball around and doing as we asked. A great free kick by Oscar was the highlight of the match even though it was overturned, but a hard truth that division 2’s pace of the game is a lot faster and how important moving first to ball is. So plenty to work on at training but don’t let your heads fall after this result. Also very good to see most did not give up!!!
Baulko 11/2s v Hills Kights 06/05/17
Good start to division two with a solid 3-0 win. The boys knew that today was the day they needed to prove just what they were capable of, and they did just that. With our keeper Rob out Lewis stepped up and had an amazing game making some top shelf saves. Adam opened up the scoring in a hardly fought out first half with a well placed shoot from a distance. Shortly followed was a great finish from Oscar A who powered up to the top of the net from close. To finish us off was Ben our regular goal scorer this season so far. With the boys continuing to work as one by talking, passing and moving and delivery good balls to each other they were unstoppable. But to Knights credit both of their keepers had an outstanding game. It was a game that was great to watch from both teams good work boys.
