Big Win

8 Echidnas v Glanhaven B 29/04/17

On a cold morning in Glenhaven, BHFC Echidnas arrived early. Looking forward to keeping their winning streak intact. The boys warmed up with some shooting practice. The practice came in useful as well, with Rocco putting Baulko one up early on. Timmy had to be on his toes between the sticks as Glenhaven fought back. The second came when Harry robbed Glenhaven of possession, then he played it out to Oscar who drove it home. In a flurry of goals, Liam grabbed two more just before half time. The second half saw last weeks MOM Murray take up position in goal, and he was tested early on. Some great saves from Murray kept Baulko in the contest. Captain for the day-Liam took advantage of a great through ball from Timmy and grabbed a hat-trick. Timmy then went on to get himself a goal with a fine finish. Not to be outdown Harry shimmied his way through the defence, and slid one past the keeper into the bottom corner. Next was Dylan's turn to get on the score sheet playing a great one-two with Oscar before burying the ball. However the best was saved for last as Rocco got his second of the game and finished it off with a Tim Cahill style celebration, boxing the corner flag.

Another great performance which will be hard to top - Man of match to Oscar for a great all round effort.

10-0 Win!

8 Echidnas v Castle Hill United B 22/04/17

After a tight game last week the Echidnas were keen to get out on the pitch and follow it up with another good performance. Oscar was back in the starting line-up after his Bali bootcamp and didn’t waste any time getting on the score sheet almost immediately. This opened the floodgates with some great work from Sebastian and Murray and it was now Harry’s turn to get in on the act. Liam rounded out the first half with an emphatic goal from the edge of the box. Poor Rocco didn’t have much to do in goal in the first half. He however more than made up for it after half-time when he came out and grabbed a brace. Oscar continued his purple patch eventually going on to score a hat-trick. Not to be outdone, Harry also got three, and Liam scored his second of the game. However it was Sebastian (now in goal) and Murray in defense who kept Castle Hill at bay. With Murray going on to prove that goals are overrated and earning player of the week.

Well done boys a great performance.

Echidnas Excited To Get Underway

U8/2’s - Echidnas

Kellyville Kolts

The Echidnas were excited to finally get the season under way. Despite missing key playmaker Oscar due to mid-season training camp in Bali, Baulko started well. Timmy, Dylan and Rocco knocked it around well and came close on a few occasions. Harry had little to do in between the sticks in the first half thanks to the goal-thwarting of Sebastian, Liam and Murray. Baulko made some positional changes in the second half, with Liam taking up the reigns in goal. Harry moved in to midfield and made a couple of dashing runs. Rocco and Murray were keen to get on the end of one of his crosses. Kellyville nearly took the lead, but Liam pulled out some fantastic saves to keep Baulko in the game. Then the moment of the match, Timmy squared it to Dylan who knocked it back to Harry, right foot top corner- GOAL!!!! The crowd went wild as it felt like the whole of Baulkham Hills celebrated. Now the real game started as Kellyville attacked, but they couldn’t find a way past Sebastian and Liam.

Great start to the season and a great win in a very even game. Congrats to player of the match Rocco.
